"I
went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to
front only the essential facts of life, and see if I
could not
learn what it had to teach and not, when I came to die, discover
that I had not lived."Henry David Thoreau 1817-1862
A Saratoga Springs Bed and Breakfast
in nearby Greenwich!
Begun on Long Island in 1982, Country Life has hosted hundreds of
wonderful guests from all over the USA, Canada and abroad. The unending dramas of the
changing seasons, the sweeping mountain views, the climactic sunsets, the natural wonders
of one of the largest farm areas in the USA ... all these assets made it easy for us to
choose this 118 acre farm to be our second edition of Country Life B & B, near
Saratoga Springs, NY. In the quiet beauty of these
surroundings, in our clean and
comfortable bedrooms, with good breakfasts and freshly brewed coffee, you will recognize
the years of experienced B & B hosting that has become our trademark to our guests.
Picture yourself in an 1800's farmhouse surrounded by the rolling hills of Washington
County, gateway to the Adirondacks and a short distance from Vermont's best ski areas.
Settle in and enjoy the most glorious sunsets east of the Grand Canyon while you browse
through brochures, planning tomorrow's adventure.
In the morning, enjoy an ample and varied breakfast with a leisurely cup of coffee on
the deck of our Saratoga Bed and Breakfast. Stroll around the pastures or through the pine
woods alongside the brook. Play in our natural swimming hole with two waterfalls and a
rock slide. Take a ride with us in one of our antique autos, then set out on your own for
a day of sightseeing in nearby Cambridge NY or the towns
and villages of the Battenkill Valley.
The foundation of stone for the old mill has been alongside the stream for more than
200 years. An old mill stream runs through the center of the farm on our Saratoga Bed and
Breakfast. A bridge across the stream leads to 30 acres of old woodlands filled with
trails and wildlife. In summertime, play and swim in the ponds and waterfalls as
countless others have in generations gone by. Relax, rest or picnic in sunny meadows
nearby.
